A S the Club's main reception room, the West Lounge serves as a social gathering area for members. Originally built at the turn of the century, the room was completely renovated in the “Arts and Crafts Style” in 1997 for which it won a Preservation Merit Award from the Historic Albany Foundation.
The centerpiece of the room features a brick fireplace surrounded by decorative
tiles and historic artifacts. Rich furnishings, period lighting, and original
Sadler prints add sophistication and charm to this much admired, welcoming
space. Several intimate seating arrangements make it the perfect meeting
place for cocktails, after dinner drinks or the casual conversation. With
a raised minstrel's galley for musicians, a grand piano, and ample room
for up to 250 guests and a dance floor, the West Lounge is also a popular
venue for club events and member parties.
